When my family and I think about spring cleaning we get excited because it gives us a great chance to gid rid of some of the stuff that has accumulated over a year or so. These are usually things that we don’t need anymore, or things that just sit around and never get used. Rather than setting all of these things by the road for trash pickup we like to donate as much as we can. This helps us to think of others, and is a great way to teach our daughter about helping others out when we can.
While you are cleaning, sorting and organizing be sure to be thinking about what items can be saved for donation. Here are a few resources that could really use your stuff to help others out! Please consider donating to one of the following:
Kalamazoo Gospel Mission
You can help residents of the Gospel Mission by dropping off clothing, food, personal hygiene supplies or even by donating some of your time. Perhaps you can donate a few hours at the Wee Hope Childcare Center or serve meals in our dining room. Maybe you are an electrician or plumber and would be willing to be part of our maintenance team. If time is precious, perhaps you would prayerfully consider an ongoing financial donation to our ministry.

Alternatives Women’s Care Center
You can help support women in need by donating baby food, maternity and baby clothing (size 0-3T) and items for children. We accept drop-offs at our West Michigan location from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weekdays. If you want to do more after spring cleaning has come and gone, there is always a need for volunteer advisers, receptionists, mentors, and board members, as well as church liaisons to help us in raising funds and experts in medical and financial fields to teach life-skills classes.
